Customer Testimonials
This is a brand new campsite which only opened a few weeks before we arrived. Paul and Vandra are very friendly and welcoming and do their best to accommodate all requests. We were a group of two families with four young children. The site is ideal - lots of animals (goats, sheep, pigs, chickens, turkeys etc) to keep the children amused and lots of space to play. Site facilities are brand new and include spotlessly clean toilets, a single shower and baby changing facilities. The site is very quiet and private - as it is new very few people know about it yet! It is an ideal location to explore Hastings and local surroundings. We would recommend this site without hesitation.

We are an older couple and had the honour of being the first people to book a pitch on this new CS site. We had a 10 night stay during July/August and nothing was too much trouble for our hosts during the whole time. This is a secluded and very level site, with more facilities than we have ever encountered on any CS site. We cannot comment on the showers as we used the shower in our own caravan, but the toilet facilities were top notch and scrupulously clean. There is also a parent and child room with baby changing facilities. The facilities are being expanded and improved all the time, with a dishwashing area already under construction. On our arrival we were greeted very warmly by Vandra and Paul and handed a Welcome Pack. This site is very friendly and accommodating, and is ideally situated for visiting Battle, Hastings, Rye, Eastbourne, Brighton, etc. There are some delightful villages in the area, and while we were there we even took the opportunity of hopping across the channel from Dover to do a little shopping! On a clear night the skies are amazing, with no light pollution, so you do need a good torch! The antics of the goats are well worth the site fees alone, and Herod the Turkey is something to behold. He is magnificent and rather beautiful, in a strange way! There is quite a lot of wild life around too. We spotted a couple of black squirrels amongst the usual grey ones, a grey heron patrolling, and we also saw foxes at the edges of the woodland in the afternoon. Keep your eyes open too for a bird of prey that likes to take its catch to the electricity pylon. The newly laid eggs, and home reared delicious bacon and unbelievably tasty sausages are very good value. We will definitely be returning to this site, if we can still get in, that is! Highly recommended, and suitable for all ages.

We decided on the selfless review rather than the selfish one (i.e. to keep this place to ourselves and not write one!) but this place is awesome and after all the hard work the owners have put in to it we hope that they get the recognition they deserve. The site is secluded but well situated for Hastings, Battle and Rye. This is a small well kept site with good space and facilities. This is newly opened but well set up and the addition of the animals was really special for the children. The owners keep pigs, turkeys, goats and geese and therefore its like being on a little farm. We are very new to camping and stayed here with family members who are seasoned campers (and their young family) and we all really really enjoyed our stay. Already planning pure return. Many thanks for a friendly welcome and a well looked after secure site. See you soon!

- Customer We have just arrived home from this lovely peaceful relaxing site. The owners Paul and Vandra were really welcoming and friendly. They have only been open for two seasons but have obviously worked extremely hard to provide a lovely getaway for their guests. The facilities including 1 shower, 3 toilets, baby changing room and washing up area were spotlessly clean. We were privileged to be there when one of the goats gave birth. We will most definitely return. Name, Position, Company
An excellent site with adequate facilities and a very relaxing atmosphere suitable for all ages of family. Friendly welcome from Paul and Vandra who have clearly worked very hard to create such a lovely pleasant retreat. I expect we will keep this one as a regular return! Lots to do locally with Hastings, Battle and Rye some of the many nearby attractions.
My husband and I stayed at Riverdale for 2 nights-15th and 16th Aug. We arrived and were greeted by Vandra who showed us to the camping area where we could choose from a couple of pitches. We chose to camp right next to the turkeys! The site is lovely, peaceful and quiet. The facilities are clean with a lovely hot shower and clean toilets. Paul and Vandra are extremely friendly and helpful, couldn't ask for nicer hosts! Our favourite bit was definitely the animals! Adorable pigs who greet you when you pop to the shower, hilarious goats and the impressive -if slightly sinister looking- Herod the turkey! Other animals include sheep and chickens which provide produce that can be purchased on site. All in all a wonderful site, will definitely be returning!
